SQUASH / RACKETBALL - FEBRUARY UPDATE

SQUASH HANDICAP KO FINAL:
The final will be played this Thursday 7th Feb starting at 7.15pm with Leon Harris playing Curt Bean. Both players have handicaps of -22 so a competitive match is anticipated. All support welcome.

RACKETBALL LEAGUES
The results from the last league will be posted on the Noticeboard and the winners were as follows:

Premier League - James Norman
League 1 - Matt Gimson
League 2 - Nick Woodman
League 3 - Brad Bentman
League 4 - Mike Kempson

Congrats to League 2 players for completing the majority of their matches.

The new leagues will be posted on the club Noticeboard but are already on the website. The end date is Sunday 7th April which gives 9 weeks to arrange / play your matches. Please continue to enter your results on the results sheet on the Noticeboard - you can also enter directly on the website. Any queries please contact Nick Woodman woodman.eg@btinternet.com

RACKETBALL HANDICAP KO TOURNAMENT
We are proposing to run the 2019 racketball handicap tournament from mid-April and through the summer. Full details will be posted / circulated in due course. To ensure maximum participation, it is proposed that all those players who have played in the racketball leagues over the last 12 months will be automatically entered in the competition. There will be a registration period for non-league players to add their names and for anyone injured - or too busy to play - to withdraw before the draw is made. Any queries (or early withdrawals) please contact Nick Woodman woodman.eg@btinternet.com

SQUASH LEAGUES:
The new leagues are posted on the noticeboard and website and matches are to be played by 21st April. Any queries please contact Dave Croft croftdj@gmail.com

MENS SQUASH TEAM
Despite good wins for Matt Gimson (again) and Curt Bean, the mens team lost 2-3 to Acorns Copthorne and have now settled to the bottom of Division 3 East. Tomorrows home match (Tuesday 5th February starting at 7.30pm) against Crawley therefore takes on extra importance and a full balcony of supporters would be great help to the team!

LADIES SQUASH TEAM
Having travelled all the way to the south coast to play against the very strong top of the league side West Worthing, the ladies were at least able to return home with a point thanks to Sue Kent. Their next match is at home on Tuesday 12th Feb at 7.30pm against Nutley and they will be looking for a good win to cement their mid-table position.

CLUB NIGHTS
Remember club nights continue on Monday for squash and Thursday for racketball
