Well done to those of you who competed in the latest round of the Tennis Box League.
The next round will start on Monday 07 October
New players wishing to join are very welcome - all levels, there is a league for everyone! - entry closes on this Wednesday 02/10 - current players will be automatically entered into the next round, unless advised otherwise - please let me know ASAP, if you want to join or do not wish to continue.
PREMIER LEAGUE MENS - [Winners = N/A] Insufficient number of matches played
LEAGUE ONE MENS - [Winners = Bryan T. & Colin J.] Two wins, bonus points and a very important set in their 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 match against Connor & John secured the title for Bryan & Colin.
LEAGUE TWO MENS - [Winners = Tim B. & Luca B] Father & son pair finished top and five points clear of everyone else in the group - well done guys!
LEAGUE THREE MENS - [Winners = Alan S. & Tony C.] Another group that was decided by head-to-head match, with Alan & Tony narrowly beating Nick & John 4-6, 6-1, 10-8.
LEAGUE FOUR MENS - [Winners = Pedro R. & Caleb R.] With two pairs finishing 8 points, the crucial title decider against Julian & Peter was won 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 by the Rebelo's
LEAGUE FIVE MENS [Winners = N/A] Insufficient number of matches played
PREMIER LEAGUE LADIES - [Winners = Kari T. & Georgina B. ] Four wins in straight sets, including an impressive 6-4, 6-2 victory against Fiona ... and Georgina's mother-in-law!
LEAGUE ONE LADIES - [Winners = Nicola C. & Caroline H.] Two wins, including a remarkable comeback from a 2nd set bagel (6-3, 0-6, 10-6).
MIXED PREMIER LEAGUE - [Winners = Sabine G. & Mike C] Twelve points from 5 wins + bonus points - beat that!
MIXED LEAGUE ONE - [Winners = Stuart S. & Martilie K.] Promoted into the top league, with 3 match wins and a walkover - the drinks are on Stuart!
MIXED LEAGUE TWO - [Winners = Tim B. & Tracey W. ] Men's & Mixed Doubles titles for Tim - last achieved in Wimbledon in 1962 - 2 bonus points may be awarded for the first person to reply with the players name
MIXED LEAGUE THREE - [Winners = Caroline O. & Oliver W.] Four wins out of four - however, Helen & Peter were tough opponents narrowly losing 4-6, 6-3, 8-10 in an exciting opening match of the round.
MIXED LEAGUE FOUR [Winners = Leon H. & Laura H.] Mr & Mrs Harris finished as the happiest couple with three wins out of three.
