Dear tennis players,
Well done to those of you who competed in Round 15 of the Tennis Singles Box League, with 72 matches played across 13 leagues.
The next round will start on Monday 04 December, with matches to played over an extended 12 weeks, ending on Sunday 25 February.
New players wishing to join are very welcome - all levels, there is a league for everyone! - please sign-up on the club noticeboard, or let me know via email, entry closes on Wednesday 29 November - current players will be automatically entered into the next round, unless advised otherwise - please let me know ASAP, if you do not wish to continue.
Polite Notice - please only enter if you are willing to arrange and play during the autumn period - which will include the possibility of wind, rain, snow, cancellations and evening play, under the floodlights - all the joys of winter tennis! - there are 7 players who will be excluded from the next round, as no matches were played in the previous round (disappointing and frustrating for opponents - why did you enter?)
PREMIER LEAGUE MENS - [Winner = Morgan W. ] Three wins out of three, plus bonus points for Morgan - all were close matches though, especially the one against Paul, which went to a tie-breaker.
LEAGUE ONE MENS - [Winner = Hugo A.R. ] Second successive promotion for Hugo, into the Box League Singles Premier League for first time. The way he's playing, I'm quite sure he will stay there too.
LEAGUE TWO MENS - [Winner = Nathaniel C.] Another example of the strong young players we are fortunate to have playing in the club at moment. Well done Nathaniel, 3 wins out of 3, climbing up the leagues.
LEAGUE THREE MENS - [Winners = Richard B.] Both Richard B. & Chris T. finished on 4 points, but did not play their 'head-to-head' or get bonus points. Top place awarded to Richard for having the higher games won difference (16 v 13).
LEAGUE FOUR MENS - [Winner = N/A] Just 3 matches played.
LEAGUE FIVE MENS [Winner = Louis M.] A closely contested league with 4 players all winning 2 of their matches. Great start to the Box Leagues by young Louis, 3 wins out of 3.
LEAGUE SIX MENS [Winner = Jake G.C.] Three wins for Jake, some good close matches though. Would have been interesting to see the unplayed match between Jake and Matt.
LEAGUE SEVEN MENS - [Winner = Bram F.] Second promotion in a row for Bram, good stuff.
LEAGUE EIGHT MENS - [Winner = N/A] Just 3 matches played
LEAGUE NINE MENS - [Winner = N/A] Just 2 matches played
PREMIER LEAGUE LADIES - [Winner = Sabine G.] 3 comprehensive wins for Sabine, no need to mention the scores, let's just say well done!
LEAGUE ONE LADIES - [Winner = Kate S.] - I checked with Kate and she confirmed that she is definitely entering the scores correctly - 3 wins out of 3 then, wow, well done!
LEAGUE TWO LADIES - [Winner - Bel G.] - two big wins and what appears to be an unfinished 1-1 draw.
