2023 Squash Handicap Knockout competition.

Good afternoon everyone.
The draw for the first rounds of the 2023 Squash Handicap is now live on the club booking site. The final is planned for Monday the 18th of December. We are using a new formula for realising the handicaps, details covered below.

Two things;
1) If at any stage you are unable to play your match by the cut off date due to holidays, injury etc, then please login to the club site and award the win to your opponent. At the cut off date I will be throwing a coin if not.
2) The actual handicap you have needs to be entered into the attached excel file to generate your match start points. An example jpg file shows some examples. The lowest start point will be -15, the highest allocated in the draw is +13 if the lowest handicapped player is playing the highest handicapped player.

This is a new way for us of setting the handicaps. It does advantage the lowest ranked players v the best players in the club. In theory the handicap should be won by a random player in the club, something that has been very difficult to achieve in reality so we will try this approach.
Follow the instructions on the excel file.

A print out of the initial rounds with each match start point will be put on the club noticeboard, but all results need to be entered online please.

*I will be at the club tonight to take any questions???

I reserve the right to change as needed any out of kilter handicaps but only after 1st match plays.
As we have lots of team games this year with three teams in the Sussex Leagues I have also decided not to run a plate competition to further complicate team active players schedules.

Best of luck everyone. Andy Norris.
