Latest Tennis Courts Update (14/01)

Hi all,

I am pleased to share that tennis courts 1 to 6 are now available to members again. Regrettably, courts 7 and 8 will remain closed for at least another 24 hours (update to be provided tomorrow). I am sure this situation has been frustrating for many members, and we thank you for your patience and support through this period.

We however continue to ask you to bear in mind that playing conditions are still not ideal: In particular, the state of courts for early morning and early evening play should be carefully considered before taking any unnecessary risks. We are all responsible for our own welfare.

On another note, although the last AGM gave us an opportunity to express our gratitude to members for contributing to the upkeep of our courts, recent witness reports indicated a few issues that need to be addressed:
- A number of people have failed to sweep the clay courts after playing
- Some individuals have performed their own DIY/maintenance to courts (including trying to remove the snow/ice over the past week) which has had a significant detrimental impact on surfaces.

We kindly ask you to leave the courts the way you would like to find them, and refrain to perform maintenance actions that should be left to professionals. Any issues with the courts should be reported to the Tennis Committee or the House & Grounds Team.

Should anyone require any further clarity on any of the above then please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best Regards,

Marc
