Thank you to all of those who signed up for the Summer Social this year!
Below you will see a screenshot of all the selected teams along with your handicap! As you all know it's tricky to get it right the first time so I will reserve the right to change the handicaps as the tournament progresses through the coming weeks.
Team Captains will create a group chat with everyone in their team and come up with a name. Remember there are points to be won for the best team name!
Just to clarify to everyone, I will put the rules of the tournament below as there have been a few slight changes.
----------------------------------------------------------------
As per last year we will run 6 teams, each with an overall squad of 8 to support fielding a team of 5. Each team member will have both a squash and racketball handicap*. Each match will be 3 games – all 3 games to be played – with PAR scoring to 15.
Each team captain to declare their team to the organizer in advance of each match
On the night, opposing team captains will toss a coin to determine who has 'HOME' advantage. The team with 'HOME' advantage will select 2 strings out of their declared team of 5 to play racket ball.
Socialising post-match is of course encouraged and points for pints remains a key part of this event.
Team order on the night is highest player on the team sheet plays no.1, lowest player plays no.5 - See screenshot below for overall team rankings.
Each match is 3 games - all 3 games to be played (i.e. final score will be 3-0 or 2-1)
Sudden death at 14-14, except in the 3rd game when play continues until there is a 2 point winning margin
The player who loses a game gains an additional 2 positive points to their handicap (e.g. a player with a +2 handicap who loses a game will start the next on +4 / a player with a -2 handicap will start the next game on 0 ). If the losing player then wins the next game they revert to their original handicap. A player who is 2-0 down will begin the third and final game with a positive 4-point advantage to their handicap.
Teams to mark each other - plus referee from the opposing team if needed/helpful
Match Team Captains to agree wo/man of the match for each match to secure a bonus point for that team
One team member to email results of match, plus any additional bonus points secured to lewiswwilson1@gmail.com
Battle commences at 7.00pm on Monday 11th May taking over all 3 courts for the night and all 6 teams will play EVERY week on a Monday (barring 25th May Bank Holiday) until 8th June, leading up to finals night on Saturday 20th June.
----------------------------------------------------------------
As usual, any questions feel free to text me or email me (Unless it's to complain about your handicap)
Cheers!
Lewis Wilson
