Hi All.
A big thank you to everyone who helped make last nights 'Squash Club night +' such a success. Thank you to everyone who was involved in the Squash Handicap competition, no matter how far you got and if like me you only saw the first round!
Thanks to the food providers, Ben, Heather and Joe for the fantastic cooked meals.
Mention must go to Stuart for making sure that the bar was ready for the first of a two night club extravaganza, and to Katie behind the bar with the help of Giles for record takings! That record might only last until tonight of course.....
In the Squash Handicap Final two club favourites Trevor Webb and Florrie Edwards played out the last game of the tournament. Trevor battled hard throughout each of the games to try and maintain the 3 point handicap start he had, playing some fantastic boasts and winning smashes. But ultimately the slender lead was whittled away by Florrie who matched him and had that little extra ability to see the winning shot, winning out the three games needed to win.
At that point another record was set as Florrie became the first of our Ladies to get her name on the Squash Handicap Trophy.
Our First team were also in action against Dolphins II from Haywards Heath and scored a fine home win 5-0 to secure 20 valuable points in the tough Division 1. The No1 strings played their match to the crowd on the Glass Back court with EG No1 string Mike Breen beating his Dolphin opponent 3-0 to top the win off.
After the Squash lots of food was eaten, and lots of social drinking took place with our Guests. A fantastic night!
For those of you at the Christmas Party tonight have a wonderful evening, (for those that are poorly at the moment and can't make it tonight get well soon.) I will try to stick my head through the door later if I can!
