Dear tennis players,
Well done to those of you who competed in Round Thirteen of the Tennis Singles Box League, with 73 matches played across 12 leagues.
The Box Leagues are currently taking a break, for players and courts to be available for the club tournament matches - however, don't worry they will be returning soon :)
New players wishing to join are very welcome - all levels, there is a league for everyone! - current players will be automatically entered into the next round, unless advised otherwise - please let me know ASAP, if you do not wish to continue.
Note - players who played no matches in this round, will need to "sit out" next time (unless they have advised me of being injured) - it is disappointing to hear that some people are not responding to WhatsApp messages or emails - the privilege to play in the Box Leagues will be withdrawn for those who continue to ignore their fellow members and do not arrange matches
PREMIER LEAGUE MENS - [Winner = Lewis W.]
Well done Lewis, beating all the big boys to win the top league for the first time. Could he a dark horse contender for the men's tournament this year!!
LEAGUE ONE MENS - [Winner = Gjorgi T.]
Congratulations Gjorgi, getting promoted up to the Premier League with 3 wins out of 3. It's tough at the top, good luck!
LEAGUE TWO MENS - [Winner = Chris Smyth]
Possibly the first person to finish top after losing 2 out of 4 matches! However 2 wins, bonus points and that crucial set in a loss against Bryan was enough - well done
LEAGUE THREE MENS - [Winner = David S. ]
After just missing in the previous round from the 'head-to-head' result against the league winner, 3 straight set wins see David going up to League Two.
LEAGUE FOUR MENS - [Winner = Ben R.]
Finally Ben! - getting the wins you needed to be climb up to the higher leagues where you belong
LEAGUE FIVE MENS [Winner = Brandon Boyd]
Two wins, bonus points and a set against his arch-rival Jamie were enough to take take the League Five title.
LEAGUE SIX MENS [Winner = Colin K. ]
Strong round for Colin, undefeated, with 3 wins out of 3. Climbing up the groups into League Five.
LEAGUE SEVEN MENS - [Winner = Stuart S.]
People always try to make you feel better by saying "you will come back stronger" when you are out injured / recovering. Well it has certainly been the case for Stuart with 4 straight set wins!!
LEAGUE EIGHT MENS - [Winner = Chris T.]
"Probably best to start from the bottom, need lots of practice" said Chris - who then went on to win all his matches! - well done also to Elliot, winning three of his four matches after 'finishing second' in every match in the previous round
PREMIER LEAGUE - [Winner = Sabine G.]
Favourite for the club league and tournament double - no pressure Sabine!
LEAGUE ONE LADIES - [Winner = Sue P.]
Closely contended round, with the top place going to Sue due to the bonus points. Victoria won the 'head to head' between them both, but did not played two matches before the mid-point.
LEAGUE TWO LADIES - [Winner - N/A]
No matches played.
Final tables are available on the club website.
Good luck to everyone in the next round - the groups will be emailed and available on the website next month.
Cheers
..............
