Easter Saturday 30th March 4.30 p.m: 18-30’s American Tournament
This is a new tennis event for our club specifically for the 18-30’s. All abilities welcome and it should be a great afternoon. Bar to be open afterwards plus there are plans for a take-away meal. Kate Stevens is organising and please contact her if you would like to take part – 07854 199366. Please note the age range. You may be asked for ID to prove you are in this category!
Saturday 11th May 1- 6 p.m: Club Open Day
We are delighted that Danny Sapsford will be joining us for an open day. Danny has had a very successful tennis career including an excellent performance at Wimbledon in 1999 where he made the 3rd Round. Danny co-founded Bright Ideas for Tennis in 2013
The plan is to have a day for members and non-members to promote our great club to the community and hopefully attract new members. There will be tennis coaching for children and adults. You may also be able to find out how fast can you serve and there will be a doubles exhibition with some players you may have seen before and some you know from the club.
Plan is also to raise funds especially for coaching in the community including schools and groups like Step by Step.
Danny is here for the tennis side but we will also be promoting the squash side and offering squash coaching so this is an event for the whole club. Please do come along to support it.

6th July 2024: Club Tennis Finals Day
This is a superb summer event. Good quality tennis to watch at your local club. BBQ and bar open. Do keep the date free.
6th October 2024: Daphne Lamport Tournament
This is a mixed league for the local tennis clubs in the East Grinstead area, approximately 15 miles catchment. At the end of the season a knockout tournament is organised with up to 4 mixed teams from all the competing clubs to take part. Horley ran this successfully for many years and we have taken on the challenge and have run an excellent event for the last 2 years, in the final last year both teams came from our club which was even better.
We have again been asked to run this years tournament which I think is really positive. Please do come along.
So lots of fantastic events coming up. Please do put these dates in your calendar now!
