The delayed final of the handicap knockout competition will now be played on Monday 11th March starting at 7.20pm on the glass-back court between Leon Harris and Curt Bean, both team players off handicaps of -22 so a competitive match is anticipated. All those who have played in the racketball leagues over the last 12 months will be automatically entered in the competition. There will be a registration period for non-league players to add their names and for anyone injured - or too busy to play - to withdraw before the draw is made. MENS SQUASH TEAM
A great win for the mens team at home against Crawley by 5-0 and 20 points to 2 with victories for Dom Williams, Leon Harris, Toby Glyn and Joe Collier. However this was followed last Friday by a loss 1-4 against Corals. Curt Bean won his game at 4 but Dom and Toby both went down 2-3 at 1 and 2 respectively and Richard Bool lost a marathon at 5 including the second set 22-24. The next two fixtures are away matches - against Burgess Hill on 7th March and Weald on 27th March. A good result in both will help the team cement a mid-table finish to the season.
LADIES SQUASH TEAM
After a comprehensive 3-0 win against Nutley with wins for Sue Kent, Heather Bean and Fiona McKay, the Ladies team suffered a hard working 0-3 loss to Crawley, but are third in their league with two matches remaining. The next fixture is a home match against Chichester on Tuesday 12th March starting at 7.30pm.
LADIES SUSSEX SQUASH TEAM
Congratulations to Tracey Webster and Sue Kent who were recently selected to play at 2 and 5 respectively for Sussex Ladies over 40ís against Surrey away at Wimbledon - see photo.
Remember club nights continue on Monday evening for squash, Thursday evening for racketball - and now Friday morning for racketball as well.
