Mens Team Squash
The 2019/20 Squash season is due to start in September and East Grinstead have entered two teams with the 1st team in Division 3 East and 2nd team in Division 5 East. The first match scheduled for the 2nd team is on Friday 13th September at home against Brighton starting at 7.30pm - all supporters welcome. The full fixture list for both teams is attached.
If anyone is interested in playing Team Squash this season please speak to Dom Williams (squash chairman) , Leon Harris (1st team captain) Keith Wilson (2nd team captain - email@example.com ) or ask someone on Squash Club nights (Monday evenings). The 2nd team is very much run with a mind to offering a game to as many interested players as possible, therefore keeping a pool of players involved.
Ladies Team Squash
The fixture list for the new season is still being finalised and Sue Kent or Heather Bean are the people to contact if you are interested in playing. There will also be a squash match practice night once a month - further info to follow.
Racketball Handicap KO and Plate Competitions
Both the main KO competition and Plate are progressing well and are at the quarter final stage - we are slightly behind schedule so please arrange your matches asap if you have not already done so. Please enter your results on both Noticeboard and website. Finals night will be on a date tba in September.
The current extended leagues finish at the end of August and well done to League 2 players for already completing all but one of their matches. All other leagues still have a number of games to play so please arrange your matches in the coming weeks. There are 30 players in the current leagues and new entrants are always welcome. If you would like to play in the new League starting in September (or drop out) please add your name to the list on the Noticeboard or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
The new squash leagues running through to the end of November are also posted on the noticeboard and website with 20 players spread over 5 leagues. Please contact Dave Croft if you would like to enter the next league.
The ever popular club nights continue to be well supported for anyone wanting a social game - open to players of all standards with Squash on Mondays from 7.20pm and Racketball on Thursdays from 6.50pm - an ideal opportunity for new members to join in or beginners to play against more experienced players. There is also a Racketball session on Friday mornings from 11am-12.30pm - if you want to join the WhatsApp group to check availability for these Friday sessions please email me on email@example.com
Saturday morning squash training
Ian Clover and Dave Croft are continuing with Saturday morning training sessions from 9am and people are welcome to drop in through the morning but preferably to start before 10am. They give priority to juniors, but anybody is welcome. The sessions are a mixture of routines, fitness and condition games.
Looking ahead to a busy and enjoyable Autumn of squash and racketball.
