Match report - Racketball Handicap Plate Final, Monday 4th April.

Hi All.
Just a quick update on the first of the Racketball Handicap finals, the Plate which was played on Monday evening. Joe Collier was on court v Nick Woodman with a 2 point gap handicap (-11 v -9).

As Nick Woodman does all of the communications for the Squash and Racketball I didn't feel it would be fair to get him to write his own match report!

Suffice to say the match was keenly fought with Nick managing to control Joe's ferocious speed and power with subtle returns down the walls and cross court lobs to go 2 games up. Joe then took control in the 3rd game with some impressive shots to go from -2-0 to 10-2. Despite a fightback to 7 points Nick could not hold onto that game.
The fourth game was nip and tuck up to Nick pulling a 10-7 lead but Joe managed to get back to sudden death at 10-10. But there his luck finally ran out as Nick snatched the vital sudden death point to win the match, along with the Cup and a bottle of Prosecco! (Photo attached)
Well played chaps.
Mike Breen and Curt Bean are up next on the 25th of April for the Handicap cup, I will confirm nearer the date.
