Squash / Racketball restarts from 12th April

Welcome back!

The Government has confirmed that step 2 of the roadmap will go ahead which means squash courts can reopen from Monday 12th April. So that’s great news but, hold on - at the moment the courts can only be used by :

- people in the same household for normal squash / RB matchplay
- individuals for solo practice drills / fitness (see below)
- one to one coaching

We will need to wait until 17th May before playing in bubbles can maybe start again - and then 21st June before unlimited squash returns - subject of course to further Government announcements that their roadmap is still on track. We are also monitoring closely what England Squash and LTA are advising before the changing facilities and showers can be used.

A few guidelines that must be followed:

- you must book a court (court 1 & 2 only) through the booking system before play
- come changed and ready to play
- bring your own drinking water
- hand sanitising after touching door handles, light meters etc

Everyone is hopeful that normal service will return at some time during the summer and that we can reintroduce our line up of events as soon as possible including:

- weekly squash club nights on a Monday
- ladies club nights on a Tuesday once a month
- racketball club nights on a Thursday evening
- competitive squash and racketball leagues
- 2 mens teams and a ladies team in the Sussex Squash leagues
- squash open and handicap KO comps
- racketball handicap KO comp

The squash committee will be continuing the successful coaching sessions for local junior schools and will be looking to introduce new squash and racketball coaching sessions for both juniors and adults (including you tennis players!). Watch this space.

In the meantime take advantage of court access from 12th April and start to get your squash / racketball fitness back again by following the new England Squash SQUASHfit programme starting from Monday - a a 5 week online bootcamp with solo drills practice, on court fitness routines and even some nutritional advice - follow the link below for more info:
